Did you get to see President Bush speak at the UNITY2004 conference?
I just watched this video of some questions asked to him while he was on stage there.

Yes, I did get to see and hear Dubya. I haven’t had time to post my thoughts on that bit of the convention or any other. I shot some pictures from my seat (of both Kerry and Bush). Low light and slow shutters make for blurry images but they are my commentary about politicians in general – mercurial to the core.
They both danced around some very difficult questions but in the end I have to say Bush did not disappoint. He went to Yale someone said. I wonder if the trustees at that august center of learning are squirming in their seats. Bush’s last q&a; session had him declare that he is against legacy admissions to colleges (in his case following his father’s footsteps to Yale University).
I can accept it if he has a medical condition, but a man who is so inept that he can’t think on his feet and deliver an intelligent response scares the bejesus out of me. One guy I spoke with politely chalked the President’s performance as, “he came across a regular guy.” Well, fact is, I don’t want just some joe-schmoe running the country (not to mention wielding power over the rest of the world’s social, economic and political realities). Give me a statesman – hell, I’ll go on a limb and say even President Ronald Reagan had the kind of poise and polish that recent presidents have simply lacked.
