The Village (idiot). Ouch!
I can’t think of one movie of his since Sixth Sense that hasn’t been a major (box-office or critical) disappointment. I shall skip this as well. Ten bills saved.

Would you really trust Slate to make a final call? And where are you paying 10 bucks to watch a movie?

Well Slate may have slammed the new flick, but the box-office seems to be treating Manoj just fine this time around. To date – $50.8 million. That’s a lot of $10 tickets … Hmmm, where do I get my $10 tickets? Just about everywhere the prices have gone up. Small towns are likely to charge less than the big cities.
Would I trust Slate? Why not? Has Mr. Blair joined the staff or something? Hook me into the loop on this one.

Here’s what Ebert says – “It’s so witless, in fact, that when we do discover the secret, we want to rewind the film so we don’t know the secret anymore. And then keep on rewinding, and rewinding, until we’re back at the beginning, and can get up from our seats and walk backward out of the theater and go down the up escalator and watch the money spring from the cash register into our pockets. ”
I trust Ebert’s judgement when he disses movies. I dont always agree with him when he goes ga-ga over stuff. Btw, some have been calling The Village The Ninth Sense – that’s sixth sense + 3.

Well, Atlanta still gives you a movie for $8.50..$6.50 for a student and it isn’t a small town :)

I pay 6.50 for a movie, and I really loved the village. There was one key part in the movie that should have been shown later though, in my opinion. But I love what they used to symbolize the ails of society. I just wish it didnt take place in the time it did.

I guess in the name of fair and accurate journalism, I ought to at least check the movie out. Or, should I wait for the DVD to roll out? Yeah, I can be cheap that way. Or, is it just laziness?

M.Night Shyamalan is a real genius to have created such brialliant movies. One thing that has astounded me is in all his three hit films there is a car accident involved.Incredible!!!!!!!1
